Happy Tuesday lovers; hope everyone enjoyed the 3 day Labor Day Weekend. I recently participated in a thing called "Hipster Mix challenge" by an African blogger that I follow called Skinny Hipster  and I won, YAYYYY! (partly because I hardly win anything) LOL. I recreated one of her looks and decided to make it a blog post. I am all about recycling my clothes, but styling them in different ways, this way you get to maximize your closet and put your money to good use instead of constantly buying outfits for different occasions. I am really in love with this look because it gives a retro hollywood kind of feel, but a bit modernized. I especially loved the colourful scarf and the bold lipstick. I decided to add my cat eyed glasses for "cool effect" lol. Remember to always keep it cheap and chic lovers. Xxx

The Over Sized Jean Jacket

The oversized jean jacket is one that is a staple in every womans closet. I own a few jean jackets, but I don't wear them often because they are form fitting and sometimes I just want to feel free. This particular one is loose and can be dressed casual or out to a bar, which I did in this case. This was another improptu photo shoot, but what kind of 'blogger' would I be if I didn't share it with my readers. There was an outfit and a camera, so I said why the hell not ?! There's something about a form fitting outfit and then a loose cover up that's fun and sexy at the same time. And of course, I had to accesorize with my favorite green clutch. Xxx

The Canadian Tuxedo

The canadian tuxedo better known as denim on denim is a 'trend' that always seems to come back after certain years and these past couple of years have proved to be no different. I typically like to go for a more comfortable look with the levi boyfriend (not so loose boyfriend jeans lol) ripped jeans and I paired it with a bold bag to make the outfit stand out a bit more. The python leather gold shoes were the final touch. Xxx

My First Post

Hello beautiful people,

This is officially my first post !!!!. Yippie……Ok now I’m calm. Now I contemplated starting a blog for a couple of years now, but I really couldn’t find the time or motivation to do so, until now that is. There are 2 reasons I decided to finally do this. The first reason being that coming across social media, I see so many expensive designer goods that I want, but I know that I don’t necessarily need. Rather than trying to live beyond my means, I find pieces that are just as great, durable and most importantly affordable. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with expensive designer pieces because let’s face it, we all love to splurge once in a while and I can certainly attest to that, but not for everyday pieces for myself. I want to give us women a platform to express our styles without breaking the bank or trying to keep up with others knowing we don’t particularly have that financial capability. The second reason for my blog is to give my readers an idea of where to purchase these items and look just as fabulous while having pieces that can last a lifetime because let’s face it, we all wonder “Where did she get that ?! I so want it !”. Now I believe in always looking presentable even if you don’t feel like putting in the effort, but nonetheless, it makes you feel good about yourself which is priceless. I know, I know, how cliché right? But no, it is actually a true statement. Bear with me, let me get into a bit more detail. If you get up and put a little bit of effort into your outfits, the confidence you feel when you step out of the house is inexplicable. I have always said “If I dressed how I felt on some mornings, I would look like a total grinch” so this is why I never dress how I always feel, but always dress like I am somebody important, because I am and we all are!. Referring back to expressing ourselves without bending our wallets, this is what I am here to do for YOU! yes YOU my reader. I am not here to tell you what to purchase, rather, I am here to show you how to shop, where to shop, what to look out for and how to put together outfits that can be recycled numerous times because let’s face it, we all want to ball on a budget and you certainly came to the right place. So follow me on this journey experimenting with new looks while looking and feeling like a Queen. Xxx
